Following a competitive application process, 15 PLME undergraduates were awarded the 2025 PLME Summer Research Assistantship (SRA), which will support their work on research projects this summer with Brown faculty.
In March, five PLME students traveled to Rostock, Germany, to participate in a first-ever Winter Course at the University of Rostock, an exciting new international opportunity. Additionally, a group of PLME students have also been selected for immersive summer exchange immersive programs at the University of Rostock (Germany), Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen (Germany), the National Cheng Kung University (Taiwan), and the newly reinstated program at Zhejiang University School of Medicine (China).
In April, first-year students took part in the final session of this year’s Whole Patient Program, supported by the Stanley D. Simon, M.D. Lectureship. The program featured PLME alumna Dr. Tarra Evans and her patient and offered a powerful and deeply personal exploration of the patient-physician relationship.
We look forward to celebrating Commencement with our seniors this May. This summer, many students will also be taking part in the new PLME/MD Summer Mentoring Program, a virtual mentoring initiative organized in conjunction with the Brown Center for Career Exploration. Through this program, participating students will be matched with PLME and MD alumni for conversations and career-focused connection.
