Over winter break, PLME students had the unique opportunity to connect with alumni through the inaugural PLME Winter Break Mentoring Program, a collaborative effort between PLME and the Brown Center for Career Exploration. In addition, students from all four undergraduate classes participated in the Stanley D. Simon MD Lectureship’s Whole Patient and Whole Physician Programs. The Whole Patient Program featured a special “Never Have I Ever” edition with the PLME deans, offering students a fun and insightful experience, while the Whole Physician committee organized a dynamic, high-impact Physician Speed Networking event at the Brown Faculty Club. We were also thrilled to welcome Dr. Kelly Holder, Chief Well-Being Officer at The Warren Alpert Medical School, who led a discussion on thriving under pressure during the journey to a career in medicine.
Sophomores are currently working closely with their PLME advising deans to craft their sophomore Educational Plans, ensuring they fulfill their PLME competency requirements while also making important decisions about their undergraduate concentration.
Many students have applied for the PLME’s summer enrichment opportunities, including the PLME Summer Research Assistantship (SRA) and the international summer exchange programs, which will take participants to Germany, China, and Taiwan.
