The PLME is excited to welcome our newest class, PLME ’30 MD’34, to the Brown community! Orientation will begin at the end of the month, giving first-year students an opportunity to meet their PLME advising deans and Meiklejohn peer advisors, experience “shopping period,” and settle into life at Brown. Students will also take part in PLME Wars, a longstanding tradition hosted by the PLME Senate that brings advising groups together for a little friendly competition and a chance to get to know one another.

This summer, PLME students have continued to pursue a variety of opportunities. Students are participating in programs including the PLME Summer Research Assistantship (SRA), the HIV and Emerging Infectious Disease Scholars Program (H-EIDS), and initiatives through the Global Health Initiative (GHI). Others are spending time abroad through PLME international exchange programs in China, the Dominican Republic, Taiwan, and Germany.

We have also launched the PLME Community on BrownConnect+. The platform will give current students and alumni another way to find and connect with one another. We hope it will make it a little easier for members of the PLME community to stay connected, wherever they are in their journeys.
